Software components for DAB data service ENCODING

Just like the decoding components, our encoders for DAB data service generation are built in a modular fashion. The encoding library is written in ANSI C++. Each encoder or encoding layer is encapsulated as a C++ class.

The PAD encoder processes Dynamic Labels, MOT objects (slide show images, file transfer) and transparent data channels.
The MOT encoder supports all header extensions defined in EN 301 234, supports the MOT directory object and allows repetition on both object layer and datagroup layer.
The IP datagram tunnelling layer works in conjunction with the packet encoder and operates according to ES 201 735.

Pictured below is PADCodec, one of the frontends for the DAB encoding library.

PADCodec generates a PAD data stream and supports Dynamic Labels and MOT objects (slide show images and file transfer). A free evaluation version of PADCodec (working with the Philips PDE 452 test transmitter) is available. Please visit our download area and submit the request form provided there.
