What's new with PADView version 1.6.0 ?

Detailed information on setup and operation of the application can be found in PADView's help file.


Version 1.6 provides a new window called the 'DAB Signal Status Viewer'. The Status Viewer allows to display the following data:

• Synchronisation state,
• Bit error rates,
• Channel Impulse Response,
• AGC (automatic gain control) levels,
• Transmitter Identification Information (TII).

It is furthermore possible to log reception-related data to a file.

Highly improved in release 1.6 was the remote control link with the DAB752 (by using an entirely new developed receiver driver).


Demo Build

The free demo build provided on the Internet comes with certain limitations:

• DAB Signal Status Viewer: No TII and no AGC levels are displayed. Static (dummy) data is displayed instead. Logging the data is not possible.
• PAD decoder: Decoding of BWS (Broadcast Website) objects is limited to 40 files. Once this number is received, handling of BWS files is terminated. Note that this does not affect Dynamic Labels and such MOT objects that are not conveyed as BWS (= behaviour as with previous PADView releases).

PADView Setup

Remember to set your DAB 752 receiver so the following PAD parameters (using the "Customise" button on the 752, then the menu "PAD settings"):

• AUX1 baudrate = 38400
• PADbytes per 24 ms = 54 bytes

Otherwise PADView won't receive the right PAD and hence can't display the data properly.


If you wish to use the new "DAB Signal Status Viewer" window, the DAB 752 receiver must be connected to a PC via its "Remote" interface (on the receiver's rear side) and the right COM port for remote control must be selected in PADView (using the menu "System - COM Port Settings.")
